Altorese (アルトレーゼ Arutorēze?) is a businessman from Glass' World, who used to run a shop with Kizuna Kazayama.
Appearance[]
Altorese has blond hair pulled into a ponytail that hangs over his shoulder. He dresses like a merchant with plain but high-quality clothes. He has a fairly androgynous appearance which confuses newcomers about his gender.
Personality[]
On the outside, Altorese is a soft-spoken and polite man that ostensibly has not refined his ability to deceive. However, most of the people who know well describe him for his ruthless business sense and that profit as his primary goal in life. According to him, he has aligned himself with Kizuna and her partners because he believes that there is significant financial value in the relationship which is too value to lose by betraying them. However, there seems to be a soft side to Alto as he did not release vital information about Kizuna when he could have.
Abilities[]
Alto is a competent business-man and informant for Kizuna and the rest of the heroes in Glass' World. His main skills lie however in his ability to deceive, as well as his connections and information gathering skills. When Kizuna and Naofumi were travelling in an enemy country in secret, Alto was able to deduce their identities from just second-hand information.
Background[]
Kizuna became good friends with Alto during the beginning of the time in her world. Before she was kidnapped, they used to run a store together. Before Kizuna was kidnapped, she had encourage. him to lead survey expeditions at the Ancient Library Labyrinth to search for information behind the waves. From there Alto had sponsored the endeavour and sold any valuable materials for money.
Since Kizuna's kidnapping, Alto had continued his merchant practise with any goods he could get his hands on. Due to the demands of the world lately, he has done well in the information trading business.
Chronology[]
Volume 9[]
After hearing that Kizuna had been saved from the Infinite Labyrinth with Naofumi - a business savvy partner - Alto stopped by the check in on the two. He provides an update on the current events in the world including an update on the Legendary Heroes. After hearing about the heroes' search for Kyo, he and some other of Kizuna's friends are tasked with searching for Kyo's location.
After Kyo's location is found thanks to Yomogi, Alto and Romina provide improved equipment for the heroes and then see them off as the heroes head to raid Kyo's laboratory.
Volume 17[]
While the Heroes gathered to save Kizuna who was kidnapped by the vanguards of the waves, Alto was busy collecting information in other countries. The focus of his search was information about other Vassal Weapon holders.
Volume 18[]
When Naofumi and Ethnobalt travelled to the Ancient Library Labyrinth to find information on how to break Kizuna's curse, they were met by Alto who was working there. They tell Alto what they are looking for and his gives them technology which can teleport them to a place where they can start their search. Apparently by this time Alto had gathered a significant amount of information about the enemy Vassal Harpoon wielder but did not share it at this time.

Kizuna Kazayama[]
Kizuna is one of the friends of Atlorese. She has a high respect for his business acumen and tasks him with different work. Alto on the other hand apparently is only working for her for the money although he does seem to greatly value their relationship as friends.
Naofumi Iwatani[]
Both had one common interest which involved profit in business. Atlorese immediately deduced Naofumi to be a savvy businessman. Naofumi also felt a similar vibe from him. But, Kizuna felt that Naofumi is more talented in business in comparison to Atlorese. Naofumi judges Alto to be much easier to work with than the Slave Trader back in Melromarc.
Trivia[]
- Alto was compared with Keel by the killer whale sisters due to their shared androgynous looks and successful merchant ability. It is also speculated that Alto was actually a woman, but no further information was provided.
