Motoyasu Kitamura (北村元康 Kitamura Motoyasu?) is the protagonist of The Reprise of the Spear Hero series. He was summoned to another world to serve as the Spear Hero (槍の勇者 Yari no Yuusha?), one of the Four Legendary Heroes.
After suffering a fatal attack in battle, Motoyasu finds himself at the summoning room for the second time, his spear possessing the ability called Time Reversal allowed him to revert time to the point where he was first summoned to another world.
Remembering only small fragments of the past, he decides to repent for his past mistakes and make a new future by saving the Shield Hero from the schemes of the King and First Princess of Melromarc.
Appearance[]
Motoyasu has long blond hair held back in a ponytail with bangs hanging on the lift side of his forehead and bright orange eyes.[1]
The clothing he primarily wears is a sleeveless tunic over his dark clothing. Additionally he wears leather gloves, leather boots and a hood-like cape decor with Filolial feathers.[1]
The weapon in his possession is the Legendary Spear which was granted to him when he was summoned to another world. His spear often takes the form of the Dragon Minute Hand Spear decorated with one of Fitoria's feathers.[2]
Personality[]
His extreme devotion and affection towards Filolials place him firmly in the realm of eccentricity.[3]
Due to a certain incident, he developed an intense distrust of women, ever since, he perceives them as humanoid pigs and is unable to understand what they are saying, although this doesn't seem to trouble him.[3]
Background[]
Motoyasu was a university student. He had two female friends who had both confessed their love towards him, the first was a shy and quiet girl by the name of Momiji and the second was a bossy girl by the name of Ikuyo.[4]
Not knowing how to answer to their confessions, he tried avoiding the topic, causing Ikuyo to lose her patience and started threatening Momiji with a knife with the belief if she was out of the picture, she would finally be able to date him.[4]
Shocked by the turn of the events, he ran in between both of them and ended up getting stabbed on the side of the chest by Momiji who also had a knife.[4]
She starting displaying yandere-like traits and stabbed him out of fear that he was secretly visiting another girl. She had the core believe if she murdered him, she'll end up with him in the afterlife, Ikuyo, jealous of Momiji, joined in and stabbed him believing the idea. Both of them repeatedly stabbed Motoyasu to his death.[4]

After dying for the second time, Motoyasu finds himself in the summoning room inside of the castle along with the other 3 heroes. He quickly regains himself, checks the weapons status of his weapon and to his surprise finds himself having an odd-looking spear with the ability Time Reversal due to the ability his memories were a bit hazy though his memories of Filo were untouched.
Motoyasu and the other 3 heroes were later brought to the king. During this time, Motoyasu proclaimed himself as the 'Love Hunter' and act aggressively towards the King when he acted rudely or cold toward Naofumi. However, his dramatic and bizarre attitude ruined the credibility with the other heroes. Regardless, he is given funds and allowed the leave.
With his funds, Motoyasu buys a filolial from the Slave Trader who eventually hatches into Kuro. Malty approaches Motoyasu but he immediately rejects her. As a result, she goes to Itsuki instead when she attempts to frame Naofumi. Motoyasu saves Naofumi through intimidation and they leave the castle together. Motoyasu and Kuro level-up Naofumi until he is approached by Melromarc assassins pretending to be Siltveltian emissaries. Naofumi is killed when he goes with them and Motoyasu is forced to restart.

Guessing that he now restarts upon a Legendary Heroes' death, Motoyasu kills Itsuki and is forced to reset.

Attempting to verify the conditions required to force him to reset, Motoyasu kills Ren. With this, he is forced to reset.

Seeing that his bold statements and actions from last time didn't save Naofumi, Motoyasu decides to use a more logical approach. In this loop, Motoyasu uses his future knowledge to convince the other heroes that he is from the future. Hearing his warnings, King Aultcray and Malty attempt to separate and trap him, however he breaks out with Eclair. The two then save Naofumi who was about to be killed by Melromarc assassins pretending to be Siltvelt emissaries. Motoyasu then protects Naofumi on his way to Siltvelt while raising Yuki, Kou and Sakura in the process. He also raises Naofumi's level so he can fend for himself.
Eventually, they reach Siltvelt and Motoyasu saves Naofumi from conspirators attempting to use him for their own means. Motoyasu then kill a fake Vassal Claw hero and Takt who wanted revenge on the false hero. Due to his brash actions, Siltvelt is forced to war with both Shieldfreeden and Melromarc. Motoyau and Naofumi are able to overpower the Melromarc forces thanks to Motoyau's power and the filolial army he raised, but Itsuki is killed by his own companion after he is defeated which forces Motoyasu to restart. Before he restarts, Naofumi makes Motoyasu to promise to prevent as many wars as he can.

- Heroes
- Naofumi Iwatani: Motoyasu fully remembers the version of Naofumi from the original timeline and the role he played in protecting the world and thus does everything he can to protect him. First, attempting to keep Malty from framing him and when that failed to recommend traveling to another country.
- Ren Amaki: Motoyasu believes the current version of Ren and Itsuki as nothing more than fools. He didn't even show emotions toward killing both of them to test out a theory of his. Motoyasu's opinion of Ren gradually improves through the various loops, firstly noting that he shows genuine concern for the state of the country especially in regards to Itsuki's actions, and later on during another loop Ren left the throne room in disgust after he realized Naofumi's trial for the kangaroo court that it was.
- Itsuki Kawasumi: Motoyasu believes the current version of Ren and Itsuki as nothing more than fools. He didn't even show emotions toward killing both of them to test out a theory of his. Motoyasu's opinion of Itsuki continues to plummet after he ends up taking on the same role he did prior to loosing his mind as Malty's chief heroic pawn, and follows through on that blatant manipulation to it's natural conclusion in launching a full scale invasion of Siltvelt in order to kill Naofumi and Motoyasu.
- Companions
- Yuki: Yuki was hatched from a premium Filolial egg. She possessed white feathers and was later raised into a Filolial Queen by Motoyasu possessing white hair and eyes. She has the strongest affection towards Motoyasu than any of the other previous Filolial he had raised.
- Sakura: Sakura was hatched from a cheap Filolial egg. She possessed pink feathers and was later raised into a Filolial Queen by Motoyasu possessing pink hair and eyes. Unlike Yuki, Sakura affection goes toward Naofumi, Motoyasu finds it pleasing to see Naofumi get along so well with Sakura.
- Kou: Kou was hatched from a cheap Filolial egg. He possessed a yellow feather and was later raised into a Filolial King possessing yellow hair and eyes. Unlike Yuki and Sakura, Kou refers to Motoyasu by his last name.
- Eclair Seaetto: Motoyasu found Eclair in the dungeon of Melromarc's castle, realizing he could understand what she was saying he eventually recalled from the past timeline her importance to the events to come and breaks her out.
- Green, Crimmy, Marine: Midori, Kuu, and Marin are the previous Fillolial Queens and King, he had raised in the previous timeline.
- Kuro: Kuro was the first Filolial he had hatched after the first time revert. He had raised him into a Filolial King but due to the shield hero death triggering a start of a new time reset, Kuro was reverted into a Filolial egg waiting one day to be hatched once again.
- Others
- Filo: Motoyasu's first goal upon the first timeline reset was to try and find Filo's egg so that he could hatch her and raise her into a queen himself.
- Malty S Melromarc: Motoyasu is determined not to get tricked by Malty again, considering that he only sees her as a pig on a humanoid body and can only interpret what she's saying as indecipherable pig squeals it shouldn't be much of a problem.
- Melty Q Melromarc:
- Fitoria: Motoyasu treats Fitoria with the same affection as he does Filo, which is to say his first response upon meeting her again was to grab hold of her with his full body followed shortly thereafter by violently removing him and rendering him unconscious.
